Questions
Loan against property FAQs.
How much will I get against my property?
It depends on the lender's valuation of your property, and differs between lenders — which is why we compare more than one.
Can I still live in or rent out the property?
Yes. The property stays yours to live in or rent out. Rental income can also support your application.
Can I mortgage a property that is jointly owned?
Yes, provided every co-owner joins the application and signs. That applies to a spouse, parents or siblings on the title.
Is LAP better than a business loan?
Usually, yes, on cost — it generally comes at a lower rate and a longer tenure.
What if the property is already mortgaged?
You can often still borrow — through a top-up, or by moving the loan to a new lender. Share the details and we will find the better route.
